The BIG Day...

Well, we went and had the Second Trimester Sonogram today. Jerzie and Grandma got to go in the room with Kim and I. At first Jerzie just stared at the computer screen in amazement. It seemed she knew what she was looking at and everything. I have no idea if she really knew but she did know what we told her she was looking at.

All looks great with the baby, its big and I heard no complaints and we saw both arms, hands, legs, feet... We also saw its brain and its heart and its spine.

But when we look between the boogers legs, there was nothing there!!! LOL!!! Just what mommy wanted!!! Not to know what we were having!!

I didn't get very good pictures because this little one is even more active than Jerzie was, although it seems impossible because she was very active as well.

Kim and I have decided that we are not going to find out waht we are having until the baby is born. We could beg for another sono but maybe we aren't meant to know right now. We have plenty of neutral clothes from Jerzie, and we do not have a room to paint till we get a new house, and we will just pick out two names to bring to the hospital with us.

I didn't want to have a shower until after the baby was born so this makes it perfect. I want a diaper party that everyone can come and celebrate and enjoy our new edition and it sounds like mommy will get her wish!!

20 WEEKS

I never really wrote about Jerzie's pregnancy and I am really regretting it now so I am going to try and update everyone with this one. So far, I have felt pretty well. The first trimester I did have some morning sickness but nothing more than bouts of nauseousness that lasted only a few minutes at a time. The last couple of weeks I have begun to feel a lot more muscle and bone aches. Nothing unbearable but noticable. I do not recall anything like this with Jerzie, but my sister says the second is completely diferent that the first. Its hard to believe that the second would be more painful since everything should already be stretched out from the first, lol. The pains I feel are similar to the soreness one would have from riding a horse, the only way I can explain it. It feels funny to walk and feels as if I over worked out the previous day, which anyone who knows me knows this would not be the case, ha ha. I also have a lot more pain through the night then I do through the day. My ciatic nerve in my lower back has really been making it hard to sleep at night because everytime I move, it is terribly painfully. Its really strange b/c it never bothers me during the day. That really is a blessing though. I would rather deal with it in bed than trying to work and chase Jerzie and such, he he.
The baby itself is coming along wonderfully. I have been able to feel it move for quite a while now. I can feel it on the inside but am yet to have anyone feel it on the outside or to see it as I did with Jerzie. No hiccups yet either. Those were so funny with Jerzie, who had them a lot, lol. This little one seems to sit on my lower left side, on my bladder none the less, while I remember Jerzie always having some body part jammed into my ribs :) That is why its complicated to see and let anyone feel the kicks b/c you would have to have your hand below my belt to feel anything...
The heartbeat of the baby is around 150 which is perfect and the last sonogram we had says that we are still on target to be due 2/11/09 or with in days of it. I am really excited to have a winter baby as most of us are spring summer and fall...not too many winter. I am also glad that Jerzie and the baby will be spread out too so that we won't ever have to combine their birthdays or parties and we can have completely different themes since they are such different seasons.
Jerzie is still doing very well around other babies and small children which I really hope continues after we bring the next one home. I know there will be some jealousy but I really hope that it is not too bad...I love her so much...I would hate for her to feel like I do any less for the reason that I have another to love as much as her. That was my worst fear about having another child. Splitting what little time I do have and taking away from Jerzie. She is such a great child though and I really think she will adapt really well and adore the baby. She even found some little boy at the playground when we were leaving the other day and adopted him :) It was so funny even though she cried when we left, but she was holding onto his wrist and helping him across the bridge at Bergman Park and then she helped him down the stairs and around the jungle gym. Then when I went to grab her to get her to leave she cried and said it was "her baby" and she was "helping him." It was so sad and cute at the same time, she really wanted him to be her baby. Even funnier still, was that he was the same size as her, although you could tell he was a bit younger.
It is so hard to believe she is two already. Time went so fast and she is so independant and mature for her age. I miss my baby but I love exploring all the "new" thingss that she figures out each day. I can never guess what each day will hold and its such a wonderful gift to have her in our lives.

19 Weeks!!!!

This is an impressive week for growth! Your baby weighs approximately 250 grams (8-9 ounces) and is about 22 cm or 6 inches long.

If you are having a girl, her ovaries now contain primitive egg cells. Lanugo (a covering of fine soft hair) appears all over the baby's body. This fine hair will remain until birth draws nearer. Sometimes you can still see some on the baby's face and ears after birth. Also apparent is vernix, a milky white covering that protects your baby’s skin from its aquatic environment. Can you imagine how wrinkled you’d get if you were in water for nine months? The placenta continues to grow and offer nourishment for your baby while the permanent teeth buds are forming behind the already formed milk teeth buds. Growth becomes rapid now and your baby begins to store iron for the production of red blood cells. Your baby can even dream (REM sleep)!

Remembering 9/11

You stay up for 16 hours.

He stays up for days on end.





You take a warm shower to help you wake up.

He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.





You stay at home and watch TV.

He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

A DAY WITHOUT LAUGHTER IS A DAY WASTED!

A woman was flying from Seattle to San Francisco. Unexpectedly, the plane was diverted to Sacramento along the way. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes. Everybody got off the plane except one lady who was blind. The man had noticed her as he walked by and could tell the lady was blind because her Seeing Eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of her throughout the entire flight. He could also tell she had flown this very flight before be cause the pilot approached her, and calling her by name, said, "Kathy, we are in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?" The b lind lady replied, "No thanks, but maybe Buddy would like to stretch his legs."

All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a Seeing Eye dog! The pilot was even wearing sunglasses. People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines!

Huge Bonfire

We went to a friend of ours who has a huge bonfire every year on Labor day weekend. I couldn't believe the size of this thing! We were so far away and once it got going we had to keep backing up because it was sooo hot! It has to burn for days its so big, lol!!

We had a great time there! We hope to go back next year and stay longer!!

More Midway...

We tried Midaway once more for the season. My shop was hosting a picnic there so we took Jerzie again. She was still obsessed with driving those cars. Makes me a little worried if she is only two and already loves to drive...

She can barely reach the steering wheel but she loves it!!!
Then she told us she wanted to go on the helicopters....
Once daddy buckled her in, she wanted off....

Addition to the house...

We got some "new" stuff for our basement recently when my father-in-law passed...

This is a huge part of his collection of shot glasses, beer cans and bottles, and all sorts of stuff!
My husband set it all up in his "game room" in the basement on a shelf that we had laying around not getting any use.
It looks really neat, he did a great job with it all.
Its going to be hard to keep Jerzie away from all of it when we are in the basement because she used to get to look at it all when we were at Papa's house.

What are we having...a boy or a girl???

There are so many ways to guess whether its a boy or a girl these days. Here are two of the old wives tales that I have looked at recently.

The one above goes by the heart rate and age of the baby prior to birth. It says we are having a boy based on 150 heart rate today and 17 weeks preggers.

The next one wouldn't allow me to show but its the Chinese Lunar Calendar that goes by your Chinese age, which mine would be 30, and by the month the baby was concieved, which was May. The Chinese states that we are having a girl.

It so hard to tell but its fun trying to guess! I really don't care either way but I know some people want to know so we are having a sonogram on 9/29/08 to see if the baby will let us know. I will keep you posted on what we find out!!
